Traditionally considered the base of all tea, powdered green tea has been adored for its exquisitely smooth taste and vegetal fragrance. Partially shade-grown and ground down to a fine powder, this tea dissolves easily in both hot or cold water. Great for a quick pick-me-up in the morning or a drink to simply quench your thirst.

Harvested throughout the spring season, this premium grade offers a thoughtfully balanced flavor profile—more developed and satisfying than early spring varieties, yet maintaining the gentle elegance that makes spring teas special. Unlike heavier summer harvests, this powder delivers nuanced, approachable notes that work beautifully in your daily ritual, whether whisked traditionally or blended into lattes and smoothies. 

Prepare traditionally, whisked in a dawan (tea bowl) with hot water. Or simply add 1/2 teaspoon to a bottle of water (500ml/16.9oz), shake well and enjoy.

Grand Master of Traditional Foods (or myung-in) is a distinguished title given to individuals in recognition of their extraordinary contributions in protecting and preserving the nation's traditional agricultural methods, manufacturing processes, and unique tastes of Korean culture. For two consecutive generations, Hankook Tea's founder Yang Won Seo, succeeded by his son Minsoo Seo, have each been appointed as the 34th and 54th Grand Master by the Ministry of Agriculture of South Korea, holding the title for both MALCHA (powdered green tea) as well as HWANG CHA (partially oxidized tea).
