Partially oxidized and pan-fired, Hwang Cha is recognized for its elegant and bold aroma that makes a statement every time you steep it. Made with early spring tea leaves, Hwang Cha Gold steeps a beautiful amber tea that is smooth on the palate. There are complex nuances of roasted, fruity and a tinge of chocolate that ends with a subtly sweet finish that lingers on.

Grand Master of Traditional Foods (or myung-in) is a distinguished title given to individuals in recognition of their extraordinary contributions in protecting and preserving the nation's traditional agricultural methods, manufacturing processes, and unique tastes of Korean culture. For two consecutive generations, Hankook Tea's founder Yang Won Seo, succeeded by his son Minsoo Seo, have each been appointed as the 34th and 54th Grand Master by the Ministry of Agriculture of South Korea, holding the title for both MALCHA (powdered green tea) as well as HWANG CHA (partially oxidized tea).
